Bethany – Hills of Moab in the distance – mounted print (1860) Shows the village of Bethany (southeast of Jerusalem) with the Moabite mountains visible across the Jordan Valley/Dead Sea. It is a common scene in 19th-century Holy Land travel illustrations. Printed by W.R.M. McPhun & Sons (later W.R. McPhun) publishers (London, Edinburgh and Glasgow), who often produced illustrated bibles and topographical books in the mid-to-late 1800s. The print is mounted and is currently in a cellophane wrapper with labels on the outside of the cellophane wrapper, as shown in the photos. Print 26cm x 20cm Mount 37cm x 30.5cm
